Embrace the camera: March 22

We were in Dallas two weeks ago, and while we were there, Grayson took a nap on his Aunt Pavi.  They looked so cute on the couch together catching some Z's!

I love having these pictures, and they make me realize that I need to get better about taking pictures of family members when they are with Grayson, too.  We saw both sets of Grandparents that weekend, and I don't have a single picture of them with Gbug!

Aunt Pavi came down to Houston the next weekend to lend us a hand while we were packing up the house for the move (this Saturday...AH!).  It was so fantastic to have her watching Grayson so that we could pack up our room and clean out the new house a little bit.  While she was here, we decided to introduce Grayson to baby food.  Up to this point, he had tried rice cereal  about 3 times, and I was ready to see what he would do with a new flavor.

I wasn't feeding him fast enough and he kept reaching for more!

mmm...sweet potato lips
It was a successful event for sure!  I was expecting him to eat a few bites, but he ate through the whole little jar!  I have tried to feed him a couple of times since then, but I have not been met with such enthusiasm.  I  am not sure if it is time to try the next flavor, or if he isn't interested in baby food right now.  I will probably have a jar of something new for him this weekend since we'll have more family in town, and I know they would love to feed him something new!

Trying out the highchair

Grayson seems to be getting so big, but last weekend when we were in Dallas, we got a good reminder of how small he still is.  When we go to restaurants, we usually take the car seat from my car because it is also the baby carrier.  We didn't have it with us when we went to lunch with my parents up in Dallas last weekend, so we decided to try a high chair.  He was soooo tiny in that thing, that my mom had to offer up her jacket to stuff in the back of the seat for him!

He was pretty good in the chair through half of our lunch, and then he'd had enough of the chair experience for the day.  Once we get into our new house, we are going to unpack the highchair that we were given at our baby shower, and he should fit pretty nicely in it because it has padding and is more like a chair, and less like a huge square hole.

Eating lunch next to this guy is so much fun!

Baby Shower

We went to Dallas this past weekend so that I could help throw a baby shower for one of my best friends/college roommate.  She is having a little girl in May and we are so excited for her!
I took some pictures of the decorations before people got there, but I didn't take any pictures of her or anyone else with my camera.  Once the mom-to-be got to the shower, I started taking pictures with her camera for her, so I don't have any pics of her.  Bummer!

Sick Baby

Grayson has been sneezing and congested since Saturday, but last night he started running a fever (24 weeks, 6 days old).  I had occasionally thought he felt warm before and taken his temperature under his arm, but this time it was 99.5.  I realized this meant that I would really need to take his temperature rectally (one of those moments that I wasn't looking forward to as a parent) so that I had a number that I could compare to our baby books.  The reading said 101.8 and we decided that if he still had a fever this morning, we'd take him to the doctor.  He woke up at 12:30 and sometime during that 1 1/2 hour stint I took his temperature again and it was 101.6.  At that point, I decided I would be staying home and calling the doctor's office as soon as they opened.
At the doctor's office he weighed 17 pounds, 15 ounces!  The doctor said that it doesn't sound like it has traveled into his  lungs, so we just need to make sure he keeps eating and give him some baby Tylenol.  She also recommended a product that I had seen here and there online that kind of grossed me out.  It is a super snot sucker, and because we love baby G so much, we bought it and tried it out this afternoon.  They say that there is protection between the user and the snot, so at least that makes me feel a little better, but if you heard how stopped up this kiddo was, you'd try anything as well!

It's my Birthday...

So I'll dress G how I want to!

I figured the outfit was appropriate for the day!  Especially since he didn't even have the decency to say Happy Birthday this morning!!
And, for a few more pictures, here is Grayson in his jammies this morning before I changed him. He was being cute and silly.  I'll take that as a birthday present anytime!

Sorry about the picture quality...it was dark in the room...I took these on my phone...and he likes to move a lot ;)

Embrace the camera: March 1

This weekend Grayson and P were hanging out on the bed watching some TV while I finished getting ready for the day.

Gray has watched the TV when sports have been on in the past, but lately he is starting to turn his head toward the TV if he hears cartoons on.  This week I have been turning the TV on in our bedroom after I wake him up, and I flip between Disney Jr. and the news.  I think that Gbug enjoys Little Einsteins and Chuggington (about trains) in the mornings, and it helps give me a few minutes to finish getting ready after he is awake.
Hello Daddy!

Daddy had to make a call - talking to the real estate agent of the house we decided to rent!
